Kickstart Scheme

The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to employers to create jobs for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit.

The Kickstart Scheme is a Government initiative that provides funding to employers to create 6-month job placements for 16-24 year olds on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment. Employers will be able to access:

  • 6 months’ salary paid at 25 hours per week at National Minimum Wage.
  • Employer pensions and national insurance contributions
  • £1500 to contribute to the costs associated with establishing the role and to provide training and employability support throughout the employment.
