Advance Northumberland are project managing the design and build of the Energy Central Learning Hub.

Work started in February 2023 with an extensive enabling works project to demolish buildings, clear the site and to divert and install new services and drainage.

The main contract works commenced in May 2023 with Galiford Try.

106, 8 m deep 350mm diameter augered piled foundations were driven in June 2023 and nearly 200 tonnes of steel was erected during July 2024.

A 50KW Solar PV array has been installed on the roof. This will be accessible for Students to view as part of their studies

The building façade and roofs are now close to completion at March 2024.

The internal fit out has started and the building is on track to open in September 2024.
