Sea view plots are launched at long-awaited Northumberland housing development

Ascent Homes first unveiled the homes at Commissioners Quay in Blyth back in 2017.

A Northumberland housebuilder has launched a long-awaited development in Blyth to the market, with seafront views and rooftop terraces.

Ascent Homes first unveiled plans for 41 new homes at the Commissioners Quay development in 2017 at the Tall Ships event in Blyth, its ninth development planned as a series of short terraces to give as many homes as possible a waterfront view.

Based in Ashington, Ascent Homes refurbishes and regenerates disused and derelict buildings as well as brownfield sites, supporting around 280 construction jobs, and it started initial construction work in 2019.

Now the firm says interest in its sea view plots has soared, with visitors travelling from across the region for appointments within its new sales cabin.

The development offers a mix of 41 new homes, each with parking spaces and comprising 15 two-bedroom Oasis homes, eight three-bedroom Liberty homes with gardens and 18 three-bedroom Serenity homes overlooking the river.

Of the 41 new homes, the Serenity house type has now been released for sale, with the show home anticipated to be ready in August.
