Our Corporate Services team, including the Systems team supports the business with all things systems related, from equipment for new colleagues, to repairs, advice, managing the support desk and service to our tenants within workspaces. We are a full service systems team supporting our colleagues to deliver for the business.

Salary – Apprentice rate, based on age, rising to From £24,242.40 on completion of apprenticeship.

THE ROLE
This is an additional role to support the team with systems and IT tasks. As an apprentice we will give you the skills and knowledge to commence a career in ICT. It is expected that you will attend day release or study for one day per week. The role is fast paced, you will need to have the ability to learn to be an effective communicator both written and verbal. You should have good IT skills and be able to learn new systems. We are looking for someone who wants to make a career in this field and grow with the role, as Advance Northumberland grows in line with our business plan ambitions.

Job Description and Person Specification
Job title: ICT Support Technician Apprentice
Reports to: ICT Support Technician
Team members: N/A
Location: Wansbeck Workspace and other locations as part of role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Working under the direction of the ICT Support Technician:
Act as the initial point of contact to Advance Northumberland staff, including Advance Head Office and remote sites.
Support new user set up of equipment, including: laptops, telephones, mobile phones and tablets.
Support the installation and maintenance of network equipment, including patching, Wi-Fi access points, switches and routers.
Support the installation of new software and updates to existing software.
Support administration and updates to the Active Directory and user accounts.
Support first line troubleshooting and ensure proper escalations through Advance Northumberland Helpdesk, and use of the Northumberland County Council (NCC) Service Level Agreement.
Support departmental administration and maintenance of all records, including purchase orders, invoices, internal documentation and disaster recover records.
Support Advance Northumberland to maintain high quality, reliable and secure ICT services to the business.
Work to and positively promote all Advance Northumberland ICT and Information Security policies.

Personal Specification
Essential Criteria
You must have:
A minimum of Mathematics and English GCSE.
Knowledge/understanding of Microsoft packages.
Demonstratable desire to pursue a career in ICT.
Good communications skills, written and verbal.
The ability to work independently and take initiative and as part of a team.
You must also:
Demonstrate professional courtesy.
Demonstrate professional ethics.
Demonstrate organisational skills.
Be proactive, flexible and resilient.
It would be good but not essential if you also have:
- Training or qualifications in ICT.
Full UK driving licence or working towards one.
