We have opportunities for an undergraduate to join the business for a year in industry.

Business Transformation Placement

Project Overview

Advance Northumberland is seeking a proactive and solutions-focused Graduate placement student to join our Business Transformation team in Summer 2026. This role will support business transformation projects including improving our current digital tools such as SharePoint, implementing new systems and general process improvement.

This opportunity offers hands-on experience in digital transformation, collaboration, and business process improvement.

Objectives of the Role

· Support the delivery of business transformation projects, including SharePoint and intranet improvement.

· Help improve how documents, templates and guidance are organised and used across the business.

· Support the development of clearer and more user-friendly digital spaces for colleagues.

· Simplify and improve digital processes so tasks are quicker, clearer and more consistent across the business.

· Contribute to successful change by ensuring colleagues are informed, supported and able to adopt new systems or improvements with confidence.

Key Responsibilities

· Gather feedback from colleagues on what works well and what could be improved.

· Work collaboratively with teams across the business to test and refine solutions.

· Assist with standardising forms, training documents, and templates for business-wide use.

· Produce guidance and training materials so colleagues feel confident using new systems.

· Support project activities, such as organising actions, tracking progress and sharing updates.

· Contribute to project delivery by attending meetings and workshops, helping capture actions and next steps in collaboration with the project team.

· Explore the use of AI tools that support improved ways of working.

· Support wider business transformation projects by contributing to planning, delivery and continuous improvement activities.

Person Specification

· Studying towards a degree in Business, Marketing, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

· Stakeholder engagement skills and ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues across business areas.

· Confidence in working independently and managing a project from concept to delivery.

· Interest in digital tools, user experience, and internal communications.

· Enjoy problem-solving and thinking about how processes can be improved.

· Experience with SharePoint, Power Automate, or other document management platforms is advantageous but not essential (training will be provided).
