Northumberland business response sought by County Council
Northumberland County Council are seeking feedback from local businesses about their current and future recruitment needs.
The labour market in Northumberland is undergoing significant change due to the impact of the Covid pandemic, Brexit, inflation and other economic factors. While the County is still recovering, the Council want to ensure the building blocks are in place to secure the right skills and development programmes needed for businesses, now and in the future.
Recent national data suggests that while unemployment is low there are crises of recruitment, skills shortages and labour market participation which can impede economic growth. To better understand these trends, the Northumberland Employer Skills Survey 2022 will gather intelligence on recruitment and skills issues facing Northumberland employers at a time of significant labour market change in order to best understand the challenges and identify how Northumberland County Council and partners can best support them to respond.
Last year, a significant number of businesses responded to the survey, gaining valuable insight into local employer needs. This year, the council are hoping to build on this to help businesses and local residents with a wide range of support services through partner organisations.
We urge local businesses to take the Northumberland Employer Skills Survey 2022 to secure their current and future business needs.
